Ainsa Spain

Ok i finished the story under my tracks. I was a little off on my castle wall date. I was resting on a 7th century wall. This town was reconquered in 724 so the wall had to be built in 600AD or there about. Too much history. All day long we came across old castles...taking photos of them all at first was cool but with out walking up to all of them and exploring the history of each gave the photos less meaning. It was very pretty to see the old towns as we wound throughout the hills and lakes.

We ate lunch in a small town of about 1000 people. A plate full of meat, cured pork...a plate of cheese a bowl of olives, a plate of bread 2 beers and a wine was 13 euro. Our cheapest meal yet and we were so full we did not eat dinner. Really

The flavor of the food is very unique to its region but similar in type.  Each cheese we try is made locally in the village.  There is no way to bring a loaf home from each tasting. We sampled some cheese from the old town of Ainsa. The guy insisted ....yum. Talking to a local we found that spoke very little english....he explained that they get a lot of tourists but very few of them speak english. Another good find.

Good food in Spain

We had a great meal in Barcelona tonight, Cerveceria Catalana. We had to waddle away from the restaurant, after having just one of each tapa, did not realize they had so many. Lunch was similar and fun too, had drinks a food in front of an old church watching people. We love Spain so much. The food and people rock. Tomorrow we pick up the bike and head out to the countryside to try more food.
